Rihanna loves her tattoos

Rihanna is known for her singing and infamous situation with Chris Brown, but also for her cute delicate tattoos, that she strategically gets the in unique locations.  I especially like the writing on her hip and the cute girl scull on her ankle.  Rihanna has 13 tattoos and counting.  (that we're aware of).

Rihanna's hip tattoo is a sanskrit prayer.

a little girl skull wearing a bow and musical notes on the other.

Love tattooed on her middle finger.

and SHHH on her index finger.

a star on her ear, and another behind her ear

Stars down her neck...which seem to have exploded.

arabic on her rib cage

a tribal tattoo on her right hand

a little weapon to protect herself

roman numerals signifying her female friends birthday

and on her chest written backwards says "Never a failure, always a lesson"

Cher Tattoos

The Power of Tattoos have Influenced the Young and Adult Celebrities like Cher
Tattoo seems so powerful that it does not only influence the young celebrities but also the adult ones like Cher. This famous icon in the music world has a colorful flower on her butt, beautiful orchid on her stomach, black rose on her ankle, a Chinese emblem on her shoulder symbolizing strength and a few more.

Based on a recent survey conducted by the Journal of American Academy of Dermatologists, 24% of Americans have tattoos. They are in the category of 18 to 50 years old. This is an amazing number of tattooed people at the turn of the century.

Where tattoos were commonly seen with seafarers and the military in the past, even teeners have tattoos now. A spiraling rate of 36% in ages 18-29 of the Americans are tattooed. You will be surprised to know that the number of tattooed citizens is fast rising with the fad going on now with celebrities in Hollywood.

Because of this trend, new regulations, sanitation standards and modern instruments are now being used and implemented. These make the art of tattooing more accessible and a lot easier. Ironically, artistic tattooing is on the rise but at the same time, gang affiliation also rises with tattooed members.

Tribal Ink From Around the World

Tribal tattoos have been been practiced in one form or another for millenia. While the practice may be somewhat different nowadays there are still many who get tribal tattoos for reasons which could be described as neo-tribal in their quest to belong to a 'tribe' (either neo-tribal or traditional) even if it is on a subconscious level. Most simply get tribal tattoos because of their striking appearance.

Historically getting tattooed was seen as a rite of passage into adulthood. A belief goes that if a girl can't take the pain of tattooing, she is un-marriageable, because she will never be able to deal with the pain of child birth. If a boy can't deal with the pain he is considered to be a bad risk as a warrior, and could become isolated from the tribe.

Tattoo Designs From the Celtic World

Celtic tattoos have experienced a massive revival in recent years. The history of the Celtic people goes back thousands of years. The early Celts displayed their skills in complex artwork particularly metal, jewelry and weapons as they were regarded as fierce warriors by the Romans. Evidence of Celtic crosses and Celtic artwork can still be found all over Ireland.

Modern Celtic peoples have evolved symbols for themselves, and North Americans of Celtic descent often wear these symbols to show their Celtic origin. The ancient Celts passed knowledge down through an oral tradition of storytelling and didn't keep many written records, consequently, there is little evidence of their tattooing remaining even though Celtic cross tattoos and Celtic know tattoos are very popular designs.
